Acacia senegal Gum- Used to tighten, tone, firm and uplift the skin, giving it a youthful appearance. It is used as a stabliizer and natural thickener.

Acai Pulp Oil- Euterpe oleracea- Anti-aging, anti-oxidant, revitalising and energizing. Rich in anthocyanins, essential fatty acids,phytosterols and vitamins. Considered one of the foremost berries in the fight against ageing, hence why it is sometimes referred to as the “Fountain of Youth”.

Acerola Cherry Extract-Malpighia glabra -Extracted from organically grown berries. Known in the tropics as the “health tree”, acerola berries are the richest known source of Vitamin C. In addition to its vitamin content, acerola contains mineral salts, which have shown to aid in the remineralization of tired and stressed skin, whilst the mucilage and proteins offer skin-hydrating properties and promote capillary conditioning and fight cellular aging.

Acer Saccharinum (Sugar Maple) Extract- A natural alpha hydroxy acid and exfoliant known for its anti-aging properties.

Almond meal (Prunus dulcis) – Finely ground, this pure, natural nut is used to promote exfoliation. Almond meal helps replenish skin oils during the cleansing process while producing a gentle massaging effect during exfoliation.

Sweet Almond oil (Prunus dulcis) – This is a emollient, all- purpose oil that is absorbed quickly. It softens and reconditions the skin. It is high in proteins and Vitamin D. Extremely nourishing, soothe dry skin and irritated areas.

Alfalfa -It contains natural saponins (cleansers), anti-bacterial.

Amethyst, Amethyst gemstone- Mined amethyst gemstone, ground into a fine powder. This fine gemstone powder is much larger than nano particles, so carries none of the possible risks associated with nanos. Yet it’s small enough for gentle, micro-exfoliation without scratching the skin. Amethyst triggers microcirculation through a physical phenomenon. It improves the complexion by fighting against the effects of stress.

Ammonium lauryl sulphate- An innocuous coconut extract, it is used in shampoos as an alternative to chemical surfactants such as Cocamide DEA. The sulphate creates lather and cleanses the hair, separating strands to produce volume.

Aloe Vera (Anti-aging)-Derived from the leaves of the Aloe Vera plant; rich in glycoproteins; anti-irritant, anti-inflammatory properties, soothes, heals, improves appearance of fine wrinkles. Aloe Vera is famous for its moisturizing and soothing properties. The mucilaginous gel obtained from the leaves of this plant offers soothing and healing properties and is comprised of over 200 constituents, including polysaccharides, enzymes, glycoproteins, amino acids, vitamins and minerals. When applied to cuts, burns, lesions, and abrasions, organic aloe vera oxygenates the skin and allows rapid healing, reduces inflammation and soothes the skin. Aloe Vera gel is absorbed almost four times quicker than water and is able to reach some of the deepest tissues in the body. This enables it to deliver nutrients directly into the skin where it is needed most. It improves the appearance of aged or damaged skin by promoting new skin-cell growth.

Apple Cider Vinegar (Pyrus Malus) – A sour, sharp-tasting liquid containing acetic acid. Produced from the fermentation of the juice of various fruits, berries, honey, molasses, or even cereal grains as in malt vinegars. Cosmetic vinegars have been used as a complexion aid for centuries. Vinegar closes pores and preserves or restores the skin’s natural acidity (pH balance). Vinegar keeps both oily and dry complexions soft and fresh and can combat the ravages of alkaline soaps and make up.

Apple Fruit Extract,Pyrus malus – Fresh extract of organic apples, sourced in the UK. This high juice extract, specially designed by Sophyto with whole food principles, extracts whole apples to ensure nutrients from the skin and flesh of the fruit are retained. Contains isoflavonoids (anti-inflammatory), phytosterols (renowned for regenerative properties) and vitamin E derivatives. Bergamot (Citrus aurantium) – An essential oil cold pressed from the skin of the Bergamot fruit it has a fruity, citrus and slightly herbaceous aroma. It is antiseptic, antiviral and healing for oily acne, eczema and psoriasis skin profiles. It can be used in blended massage oil, or diluted in a bath to assist with stress, tension, PMS, skin problems, postnatal depression, colds and flu, anxiety, depression.

Benzyl alcohol – Natural preservative can be plant derived. There is a lot of research on this ingredient; this is considered safe if it is right down the bottom area of the ingredient listing. It is a colourless liquid with a mild pleasant aromatic odor; it is a natural constituent of a variety of essential oils including jasmine, hyacinth, and ylang-ylang. Used in the soap, perfume, and flavor industries.

Benzoin- A natural gum produced by the south-east Asian Styrax tree. The resin acts as a natural antiseptic and promotes healthy skin. It’s sweet, vanilla-smelling aroma is popular in the perfume industry and is used in aromatherapy to soothe and comfort.

Beta Glucan, Beta glucan – Extracted from the cell walls of oat kernels. Oat beta glucan has been proven to penetrate the skin, carrying its beneficial properties to deeper layers of the epidermis.
