Aloe Vera - A miracle ingredient/ Nature’s Healer.

The Aloe Vera plant, Aloe Barbadensis Miller, is recognized as having many health promoting qualities when applied externally to the skin and also when taken internally. Modern research shows that the pure gel of the Aloe Vera leaves contain over 200 constituents – including essential minerals, vitamins, enzymes and amino acids plus Aloe Vera polysaccharides which are unique to the plant. Modern science has not been able to synthetically manufacture the Polysaccharides in Aloe Vera. The plant is a member of the lily family and it is related to garlic and onion.
The original reference to Aloe being used dates back to prescriptions from Sumarian physicians found on clay tablets which are dated back to 2100 BC, before the Christian era. The Ancient Egyptians, Greeks and Chinese used this plant to cure ailments such as burns, eczema, diseases of the stomach and bowel.  Alexander the Great also used Aloe Vera as a healing gel for wounded soldiers on the battlefield.

Sun care and ageing spots.

We all know about the damaging effects of over-exposure to the sun. When the skin sustains sunburn, the immune cells in your skin are completely destroyed. A study completed at the M.D. Anderson Clinic at the medical Centre in Houston looked at the presence of ultraviolet exposure on the surface of the skin. They found, when the Aloe was applied to the surface of the skin prior to testing; the immune cells were protected, providing full immune function.
Aloe Vera soothes your singed sunburn skin; Aloe will cool the heat, stop the sting, and re-hydrate your skin. It gives instant anaesthetic fast relief of your symptoms. For after-sun care, have a cool shower, or cool bath, no soap. Then gently pat the skin dry. Just apply the gel directly to your skin. The heat or “sting” of the sunburn should be alleviated almost immediately.

Anti-inflammatory.

Aloe Vera is a great Anti-inflammatory; it has proven to reduce pain, swelling and redness associated with sprains and strains, as well as acne and a variety of other skin blemishes. Aloe Vera is great to use for minor skin irritations, abrasions, burns and ulcers.  It can also be directly applied to swollen skin and muscles, sports sprains and strains. For minor burns in the kitchen, ironing, curling tongs or similar, place hand or affected area under cool running water for 5-10 minutes. Apply Aloe gel, and reapply several times as required until the burning sensation is dissipated. For radiation therapy, we advise to consult with your radiologist prior to use. After each session, place a small amount onto the affected area then pat or gently massage into the skin. Apply again as needed.

Aloe Vera benefits to the skin.

Aloe Vera is a useful ingredient in skincare preparations for problem, aged and sun damaged skin. Most of the moisture in the skin comes from the deep inner dermis layers and goes through the skin. The polysaccharides in the Aloe Vera provide a protective layer on the surface of the skin that combats skin dehydration. The cooling and healing effect reduce acne inflammation and helps to reduce redness and soothes angry problem skin.
Ageing spots produced by the chemical melanin are reduced with the application of Aloe. These aging spots are stimulated over time by a complicated chemical procedure in the body and other external forces e.g. sunlight. Aloe Vera however, provides the skin with constant rejuvenation and reverses this process helping the skin at cellular level to produce younger, softer skin. Aloe Vera when used on a daily basis, improves the appearance of aged, sun damaged skin by promoting new skin-cell growth.
In independent laboratory studies it is proven that by using Aloe in a product instead of water you achieve 3 times the penetration and absorption. It is absorbed quickly and delivers nutrients directly into the skin where it is needed the most.

Many of our skincare ranges on our shopping cart contain Aloe Vera instead of water, so using these products give you daily benefits for your skincare routine.       Pure and Green.      Synthesis 345.

Anti-ageing properties.

Collagen is the skin’s basic support structure that keeps it firm and supple. Collagen is synthesized by fibroblasts deep in the heart of the skin’s nourishing center – the dermis. When we age, the collagen production in the skin slows down – eventually ceasing. Inevitably, with age and a depletion of collagen, the epidermis becomes wrinkled, crevassed and thin. Aloe penetrates deep into the skin and stimulates the skin’s fibroblasts to produce collagen and reverse the visible signs of ageing.
